How to store your reusable face mask

Instead of stuffing it into your pocket, bag, or glovebox, or leaving it on the cafe table, store your reusable cloth mask in a way that ensures you won't lose or damage it, or spread germs elsewhere! We like a reusable solution for storing our face mask such as a reusable ziplock bag, wet bag or cloth pouch. TIP: Don't forget to wash the reusable bag or pouch you store your mask in as you're washing your face mask! Reusable plastic zip lock bags: Leak proof and durable, although they can take longer to dry than a wet bag or fabric pouch. The plastic and silicone zip lock bags we stock at Biome are BPA and PVC free. [pswp_products ids="22363,20501"] In a small wet bag: Zip closure, leakproof, machine washable, fade resistant and quick to dry. Also great for storing wet togs, nappies and other bits and pieces. [pswp_products ids="32724,33392"] In a fabric coin purse or pouch: Zip closure, a range of fun designs, and machine washable. Ours are made from upcycled fabric by the incredible BeeKeeper Parade, who fund schools in Cambodia. [pswp_products ids="32317,34722"]

How to wash and dry your reusable face mask

It is important to wash and dry your reusable face mask in between each use. Wash them in the washing machine or by hand with hot water (between 60°C to 90°C) and a quality natural laundry powder. Oxygen Bleach (sodium percarbonate) is also recommended as an effective disinfectant. Dry in the sun or clothes dryer, and store in a clean, dry place. Our stainless steel sock hangers are not just for socks! They are perfect for drying reusable face masks too (along with herbs, undies, and all sorts of other things - you'll get lots of use out of this one). [pswp_products ids="18615,26286"]

Tips on wearing a face mask

Please follow state government advice with regards to wearing a face mask during the Covid-19 pandemic. Before and after handling your mask at any time, wash your hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitiser (made up of over 70% alcohol). Make sure the mask completely covers your mouth and nose. Adjust or tie a knot in the ear loops to ensure there are no gaps between your face and the mask. Do not touch your eyes, nose, mouth or the front of the mask while wearing it. If your reusable face mask gets dirty or starts to feel damp, replace it with a new one. Right here! We stock a range of ethical and reusable face masks that are cut from remnant fabrics. And everyone reports how comfortable they are due to the shaped under-chin panel that stops them riding up, and the internal nose wire to help prevent glasses from fogging.
